Watery Commons Deptford   

Meet: 10am  Deptford DLR Station

End: Near Canada Water overground and bus routes at 3.30pm

5 miles – 4.5 hours (approx)

Join InspiralLondon’s Hydrodetours in a collective exploration of Deptford’s watery commons. On this walk we will meander together from the Ravensbourne River at Brookmill Park, along Deptford Creek to the River Thames. We will encounter on the route – activists, campaigners, residents, conservationists – and learn more about the layers of this unique area’s history: including social histories and recent anti gentrification battles that define the ongoing story of this historic part of London and all its watery commons.

Terrain: Flat, maybe some steps but optional depending on the tide.

Bring: Please bring packed lunch and water – we will pass a supermarket just before lunch break, flat comfortable shoes, sketchbook encouraged but not essential.
