Memories & Sanctuary – Research and Mapping BH365 celebrations
March 5 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
From 3pm – 5pm we will walk together from the Clockhouse Community Centre towards the wetlands of the Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Centre, observing, listening, sensing, smelling and collecting our impressions of the riverside, as we think about the river both as a place of sanctuary, and also of exchange, migration and exploitation.cThen 5pm-7pm on Wednesday 5th March we spend time at The Clockhouse Community Centre to begin thinking about anniversaries as we share our memories, unexpected encounters and research of walking inspiral. And together we will begin exploring a new set of narratives for the Boroughs of Sanctuary centred on Woolwich and through Greenwich as the river Thames flows by Deptford, Surrey Quays, passing Southwark, toward Tower Bridge and the City.
Please come prepared for weather conditions, bring memories of Sanctuary – photos, images, small objects that might trigger further exchanges and discussions on migration, exploration and exploitation.
