Made in the Mardyke – T100 performance walk
May 31 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

Made in the Mardyke final event – walk, picnic and performance as part of T100 Walking Festival.
On this walk we will be exploring together the Mardyke flood plains – looking into the past, experiencing the present and imagining into future: in the next 100, 1000, 10,000, million years – what hybrid creatures will appear in the post-natural environment of the Mardyke?
With workshop participants and the creative input from the river as it transforms the materials that make up its environment, we encounter some creatures from the near future emerging from the Field of Peace. And as we picnic together, by the river, we will discuss the Mardyke as a natural resource, grappling with all the human waste and pollution thrown its way; think about how the river digests this waste, transforms its and is transformed.
