Midnight Inspiralling: Dark London

Join us in King’s Cross Square for the opening night event of InspiralLondon Night/Day Relay of London as a City Park. From midnight until 2pm we will spiral anticlockwise out from Kings Cross Square – encountering the nightlife of human and of animal – exploring the nocturnal urban ecology, from flora to fauna, under the shadows of the city’s forest canopy.

As part of the evenings events you will be invited to reclaim the night together with – dotdotdash – artist Birgitta Hosea’s collaborative light action; be introduced to street tree twinning with artist Rachel Gomme and explore the urban forest canopy by night with counterproductions.

InspiralLondon Director Charlie Fox will also introduce the inspirallondon trail and its pioneering spirit to map and experience the whole of London and its hinterlands from Kings Cross to Gravesend.

Instructions, maps and guidance provided on the night. Meet at the Spindle Sculpture on Kings Cross Square from 11.45pm Friday 20 July to start walk from 12 midnight. Please wear sensible shoes and clothing – plus you are advised to bring water, a torch and snacks.
