Saturday May 4 from 10am-2pm – meet at Battersea Park Station (10 am)
We continue the Re-walk on Segment 6 from Battersea Park Station towards Southwark Park. This walk led by InspiralLondon associates and artist collectively – as Starting from the edge of Battersea Park to Larkhill by Stockwell, to Slade Gardens, we reach Myatts Fields by noon; through Love Walk find St Giles Church Gardens, Lucas, then Sceaux to go along Surrey Canal. Then unexpectedly wander with Bird in the Bush to Old Kent, passing Pilgrim Way School, to finally find our way on the South Bermondsey Greenway.
This day of urban ecology exploration culminates in Soundings Beneath Southwark a short artist-led walk from Dilston Grove at the edge of Southwark Park to end at Stave Hill near to The Thames on Rotherhithe Peninsula (See more details below or on next walk – booking essential for this special event).
Later on Saturday May 4 from 2pm-3.45pm (SIGN UP on next page)
Meet at Dilston Grove in Southwark Park join us for a short walk from Southwark Park Gallery towards Stave Hill Ecology Park detouring through Southwark Park towards the river Thames at Rotherhithe Village with InspiralLondon associate artists Gail Dickerson, Keith Turpin, Isa Suarez and Charlie Fox – a unique perspective on what lies beneath our feet – exploring geology, tunnelling, waste, soil and grounding underground sound. We will then invite you to walk onto Stave Hill Ecology Park to join Reveil 11 – soundcamp’s annual live audio feed and deep listening event – from streamers around the world at daybreak for 24 hours of soundings. There will be refreshments along the way but also tea and cake at Stave Hill.
