Re-walk Segment 5 ‘Knots towards Batter Sea’
May 3 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeOn Friday May 3 from 5.30pm – 8.30pm – meeting at the exit of Finchley Road Tube.
We re-walk Segment 5 from Finchley Road to Battersea Park – approximately 7.5 miles (12 km). Picking up the re-walking of the complete InspiralLondon trail with Director Charlie Fox. This walk will trace some conscious and unconscious steps toward Batter Sea, a new land submerged in gigantesque furniture and with its glittering unreal reefs. Please book HERE on Eventbrite for this walk
NOTE If you are unable to join us at the beginning of the walk – you can join us for a shorter walk by meeting us at 7pm at the exit of Bayswater Tube for a walk towards Battersea Bridge (Please message contact@inspirallondon on the day if you meet us at 7pm)
During this part of the walk we will explore the secret knots of the Early Britons, their sacrifices, rituals and their mapping of space, to immerse ourselves in the Celtic origins of London. Thinking together of the Celtic knots that bind the story and geometry of London, incarnated in the ritual offerings made in the River Thames along the Battersea.
This walk links to the following walks – on Saturday 4, Sunday 5 and Monday 6th May.
