Ritual Spiral Collaborative Walk 6-7.30pm

Join us for unique InspiralLondon Event – In/Spiral Collaborative Drawing Walk.

During this short exploratory walk we will be inviting all walkers to make a collaborative drawing together, devised and led by artists Gail Dickerson, Birgitta Hosea and Sarah Sparkes. (Walk is approx 1.25 miles long). Please SIGN UP here.

To join us on this unique re-walking of InspiralLondon Trail meet at 6pm at the exit of Woolwich Station – Elisabeth line. From here we will follow InspiralLondon’s Charlie Fox, detouring to the buried site of London’s greatest Celtic oppida, located somewhere beneath Maribor Park. At this place we will form a first experimental spiral before walking to the rotunda of Woolwich Foot Tunnel (Southside).
Artists Birgitta Hosea and Sarah Sparkes will then invite you join in this Ritual Collaborative Drawing on the Thames foreshore. And Gail Dickerson will Inspiral us through the layers of London’s geology encountered on the journey as we reach the foreshore – Inspiralling through London Clay, Claygate, and River Terrace Deposits… Time travel spiral walking adventure.
For all those walkers joining us for this early evening walk event (Part of InspiralLondon ReWalk, ReMap, ReTell 2024-2025) we will be crossing under the river by foot for the last time on the trail rewalk – as the pathway takes its final spiral anticlockwise northwards towards Gravesend. On this evening we will be inviting you to make a collaborative drawing together and enjoy some light refreshments – north of the river. You are also invited to bring some light refreshments to share.

This unique walking event follows a short detour off the trail before spiralling our way to the southern entrance of Woolwich Foot Tunnel. Here, descending to time travel across to the North side of the Thames, by foot and timeslip. When we reach the north side we will gather again to make the colloborative spiral drawing in the nearby Royal Victoria Gardens. From one side clockwise, the other anticlock ways – proof of the strange magic geometery that encircles InspiralLondon – and the origin of the pathway in the double helix of London’s Celtic spiral. Artists Birgitta Hosea and Sarah Sparkes invite to join in this Ritual Collaborative Drawing on the Thames foreshore. And Gail Dickerson will Inspiral us through the layers of London’s geology encountered on the journey as we reach the foreshore – Inspiralling through London Clay, Claygate, and River Terrace Deposits.

To provide support to InspiralLondon’s work as Community Interest Company you are invited to sign up here and donate from £5-10.
