Sanctuary & Refuge with wetland migrants.

May 3 - May 4

Part of Sanctuary & Refuge & International Dawn Chorus Day at Greenwich.
Livestream of tidal Migration at GPEP, London:
Live from the living roof of Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park Gatehouse, this is the soundscape of a unique urban wetland nestled by the tidal River Thames in London, near to its flow through the Thames Flood Barrier. The livestream also celebrates over 10 years of collaboration between soundcamps’s Reveil and Inspirallondon. Listen live here: http://locus.creacast.com:9001/london_gpep-living-roof.mp3

Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park (GPEP) is a rich urban wildlife oasis that has played an important role in the area’s regeneration and community life since its creation in 2002. With striking freshwater habitats and a wealth of wildlife, this tranquil park is a stunning natural area for people to discover and enjoy in the heart of Greenwich Peninsula; providing welcome shelter for migrant birds from Africa and a place of refuge for a variety of plants, invertebrates and animals.<
The park includes two lakes surrounded by marshland, a small Alder woodland, and a walk-in wildflower meadow. It’s home to a fascinating array of wildlife, with two bird hides allowing fantastic views of species such as snipe and water rail in winter, and reed warblers and swifts in summer. It is also a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation (SLINC).
Livestream created by sound artist and researcher Ian Thompson – see website.

Address: Greenwich Park, John Harrison Way, London, SE10 0QZ
