Songlines for Greenwich – Lantern/Migration/Celebration – BH365 event. Songs of migration workshop. BOOK HERE

Join inspiral artists and musician Mikey Georgeson for an evening of song writing, musical improvisation, drums and conversation. Delving deep into the archive – we offer an imaginal exploration among the surroundings of Woolwich Old Dockyards; a time together to create new hybrid songs, share stories and lyrics while meeting unusual and unexpected figures from Greenwich’s untold history.

Part of Songlines for Greenwich Festival Workshops and Events (March-July 2025)

This Spring join us for gentle walks and contribute to our local Black History walking project Songlines of Greenwich. Together we create, interpret and celebrate Black cultural heritage and experiences reclaiming the histories of places, of forgotten or underrepresented people.

Leading to a festival of free Public Performative Walk Events – From mid May to mid July  2025 InspiralLondon enjoy Songlines, a series of interlinked walks, co-curated as part of Greenwich’s Black History 365 celebrations.

Together we explore the hidden histories of Greenwich, extraordinary stories buried in the archive – individuals and communities seeking refuge and sanctuary. As we look across at the Tate & Lyle factory we hear tell, the strange convoluted histories of sugar/cane and spice.  This workshop is free but booking is recommended – please bring percussion instruments etc if you have them.
