Watery Commons – Cray Confluences
30th August 2021 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
£6Cray Confluences – Monday 30 August 2021:
Meeting at 10 am for an inaugural Hydracity Walk – a month of walks, art, collective exploration & rediscovery of our Watery Commons (as part of Totally Thames 2021 and North Greenwich walk programme).
With experienced Walk Guide Keith Turpin, we will explore together the left bank of the River Cray, as it veers through Slade Green to Dartford Marsh. Here the river Cray joins the Darent River before entering the Thames at the Dartford Barrier. A rare example of the interface between marsh and city, that makes up the remnants of the Thames Valley Delta system.
Come prepared – depending on weather, with hat, water and packed lunch/picnic.
These Walk is part of Hydracity 2021-2022:
Hydrodetours Walks are integral part of a larger Hydracity project to explore and map the hidden, lost or undervalued watery commons of London and the Thames Valley Delta.
From September 10 – 26 September at Thames-Side Gallery (Harrington Way, Warspite Road Royal Borough of Greenwich SE18 5NR) visit HYDRACITY, an exhibition featuring the work of collectives, community groups, local and international artists, all exploring this watery commons, together.
